Kick Start my week with study visits to Dewan Negeri Selangor!
Recently there is a lot of negative news about government, and many “suggestion” on policy, pop up during yamcha session, this make me wonder about how the policy making process in Malaysia, and I decided to take one day and take a visit to the Selangor State Assembly.
Thanks Power Shift Malaysia for the opportunity to tour around the Dewan and Speaker Office, watching the 13th Conference of the assembly live from the visitor seating area, learning about the state legislative and their reform with Azira, Head of the research unit of the speaker’s office, meeting the honorable Speaker, YB Hannah Yeoh, and the current executive committee member in charge of environment and tourism, Elizabeth Wong.
It is really interesting to see a live debate of issues about Selangor instead of seeing the news from newspapers. smile emoticon
The main learning outcomes of the tour,
- It is important to understand the system, so that we know who should we find, and how when fight for a certain issue.
- It is important to choose a right government, there are many transparent and impressive reforms done by Selangor government. Well done!
- Power of State Government is too limited, Federal government need to be changed!
- It is so cool being part as a civil servant, they are truly the change maker! Hopefully one day I can be there as well !
